Dan and I went down to York for New Year's Eve :) Just so we could have a food day out. I love York, it's so picturesque and every corner looks like a postcard haha. This is what I used to imagine England looked like when I was little - all higgledy-piggledy shops and cobbled streets haha. Oh dear. But it really is lovely to walk around in York.
We got up really early and arrived at about 10am. Walked over to Slug and Lettuce and had a nice full English breakfast. Half price Monday! Well worth the money. The coffee was pretty bad though but at least the breakfast made up for it :D
We wandered over to Gert & Henry's because there was a sign outside that said Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding and vegetables £9.90 and hunger struck at the same time, so in we went.
This restaurant was in one of those old higgledy-piggledy shops :D
The food was quite good, you should give it a go if you're ever in York.

The potato roasties were really good.
Roast beef was tender and the yorkshire pudding wasn't soggy which is always a bonus :D
We had dinner at Bella Italia where they sat us at the window table which I really liked - it's really cozy and you can see the whole restaurant and the head waiter who looked a bit like Gru out of Despicable Me haha.
We shared an antipasto platter.
And a king prawn pasta. We had ordered the same thing in the Bella Italia in Durham before and couldn't decide on anything else so we got them again haha. Which I don't mind because both were really tasty. Ah Italian food. So satisfying.
We got the train home and had a rest before we headed out for a party and then to the pub close to Dan's house to meet up with his family for midnight. I think it's been one of the most memorable New Year's celebrations I've had yet :)
Anyway, I know it's a bit late but Happy New Year everyone!
