We had quite a bit of filo pastry leftover from the Banofudge Bites, so we decided to make some chicken pie :D Who doesn't love a good chicken pie! Dan suggested we make individual portioned ones because well, they look nicer. Haha. Sometimes, making the food look good makes it taste better.
We didn't have much experience using filo pastry and found it quite difficult to handle and cut. We got there in the end though. It's got quite a nice feel to it, somewhere between paper and cloth with a powdery texture - this was just one we bought frozen from the shop.
Cooked the chicken with onions and garlic in some stock. Then used the stock to braise the vegetables. We also used our secret ingredient: "Mixed Herb" haha. Easy-peasy.
Covered the top and brushed it with some melted butter.
Dan made a leaf thing to go on the top... I think he's quite proud of this leaf :D But he only made one because that was all the pastry we had left :(
Anyway, because the filling was already cooked, we just followed the packet instructions on how long it would take to cook the pastry - I think it was about ten minutes.
And then I ate to my heart's content.
