Home Cooking

It is 5am here. Due to work and a strange pattern of tiredness, I now have a weird sleep cycle. So I thought, do something productive, Mabel. So, here I am. Being productive. Also, good morning, dear reader :)

Made some stir-fried vegetables and soy sauce chicken with mushrooms for dinner the other night. This is the kind of food that instantly makes me think of home, my mom, and afternoons where I just got home from school and there's lunch ready to eat. The good life, my friends.

I think anywhere you go or whoever you are, simple home cooking is just so satisfying. Eating the food you grew up with is the kind of thing that just makes you heart swell if you've been away from home for a while.

It's quite nice to be able to relive a memory through food. Although, perhaps the emotional attachment to food is unhealthy but oh well. You have to eat to live, so you might as well enjoy it :)

PS. I got the soy sauce chicken recipe from my friend, Sher Ree :) She has an amazing blog called realsweetstuff.com - you should definitely check it out if you love pretty design and paper products.
