Bread + Butter Pudding

We made bread and butter pudding, a classic dessert and of course, so easy to make :) The first time I ever had bread and butter pudding was in the first year. I was at my friend Crystal's house, and we just buttered some bread, spread a bit of jam on, cut it all up, and poured some cream in; she whacked it in the oven and hey presto, bread and butter pudding!

The second time was when I went down to Ainaa's in London and she made a version with bits of chocolate in it. It was divine! However, we just made a basic one, and this is the recipe we used, pretty straight forward stuff, although we didn't use sultanas or nutmeg, simply because we didn't have any.

We kinda tweaked the recipe to fit our portions, so you know, just use the recipe as a guide. It still turned out great - I love how bread and butter pudding is so simple but it transforms in the oven into a beautiful comforting dessert.

They really puffed up in the oven, it was pretty exciting! I thought we were gonna get mega bread and butter puddings. But alas, they deflated slowly on being removed from the oven.

Eh eh? What do you think? Not bad right? We actually used some hot dog rolls because we didn't have any other bread haha.

Cute tea bag plate thing (picture taken while impatiently waiting for the puddings to cool).

I had mine with a big dollop of vanilla ice-cream and Dan had his with cream I think. It was really light and fluffy, it was also quite fragrant because of the vanilla in the cream.

The simple things in life always make you happiest, don't you think so?
